About Mrs. Hanson

I am so excited I get to explore the world of science with you!
I LOVE SCIENCE!
God made this wonderful world for us to explore! He left things unexplained so we can explain them! This is science.

This is my 9th year at First Lutheran and I know I get to teach the best of the best! But before I came to Oklahoma I lived in Portland, Oregon where I went to school at Concordia University to study how to be a science teacher.
God has since, blessed me with an awesome husband, Ryan, a beautiful girl, Juniper, and a silly son, Malakai!

I have a master's degree in Science Curriculum and Instruction. During my master program, I realized how important it was for students to be in charge of their own learning.  As a science teacher, I will provide you with opportunities to explore and connect with the world around you. As a student scientist, you will observe, interact, and collaborate with others to gather data, analyze it, and learn about the world around you.

Mrs. Hanson's Teaching Philosophy
Every teacher is different. It is your job as a student to know my teaching style and it is my job as a teacher to know your learning style. Once we both do our jobs our lives will be a lot easier. There are a few things that I believe and think we should do.
1. Respect all life
2. Everyone can learn
3. Ask questions
4. Diligence pays off
5. Positivity goes a long way
